Anna Ayala, who has been living in San Jose since her release from prison in April, told a KPIX-TV interviewer she cooked the finger, which she purchased from its owner for $100 after it was severed in a workplace accident, in a pot of chili at her home in Las Vegas before taking it to the San Jose Wendy's and planting it in her food, the San Jose Mercury News reported Thursday. Advertisement Ayala and husband Jaime Plascencia pleaded guilty to trying to scam the restaurant chain. She said she and Plascencia are no longer together. The attempted scammer said she has abided by a lifetime ban from Wendy's as a condition of her parole. She said she fears never getting rid of the nickname she received in prison. "They would call me the 'Finger Lady,'" she said. "'Oh, look, there goes the Finger Lady.'"
