Six arraigned for karaoke attack

STAMFORD, Conn., Oct. 8 (UPI) -- Six Connecticut women arraigned on assault charges are accused of attacking a woman singing karaoke at a restaurant because they didn't like her performance.

Stamford Police Lt. Sean Cooney said the women made derogatory comments to Leidy Alcantara, 25, while she was singing Sept. 23 at Bobby Valentine's Sports Gallery and Cafe and subsequently punched, kicked and pulled her hair, The (Stamford, Conn.) Advocate reported Thursday.

Michelle Rosedom, 19, of Stamford; Martisa Chambers of Norwalk; Danielle Swanson of Norwalk; Chaniel McRae of Norwalk; and Deja Hines of Stamford, were arraigned Wednesday in state Superior Court.

Kiana Strickland of Stamford was arraigned Monday.

Each of the women are accused of third-degree assault, conspiracy to commit third-degree assault and breach of peace.
