FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Sept. 1 (UPI) -- Police in Florida said they arrested a man who allegedly asked a bank teller for a kiss while he was robbing the establishment.

Fort Lauderdale police said Deatrick Daniel, 27, allegedly attacked a Bank of America security guard outside of the bank Friday before running into the building and struggling with the bank manager, who was trying to call 911, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported Tuesday.

Daniel allegedly punched the manager in the face, brandished a semi-automatic handgun and forced a teller to open a cash drawer. The police report of the incident said Daniel collected $9,000 from the drawer and took the teller into the break room and asked her for a kiss. The report does not say whether the teller complied with the request.

Investigators said the bank guard and manager followed Daniel when he fled the building and led police to his hiding spot in a back yard about 50 yards from the bank.

Police said they recovered about $2,000 from the yard along with an unspecified amount of money dropped by the suspect between the bank and the yard. Daniel was arrested and charged with bank robbery.
