NEW YORK, April 22 (UPI) -- Police in New York state said they have arrested a woman accused of kicking her daughters, ages 10 and 12, out of the car for fighting.

Investigators said Madlyn Primoff, 45, of Scarsdale, forced the two girls to exit her car Sunday in downtown White Plains and continued driving, the White Plains Journal News reported Wednesday.

The 12-year-old girl ran after the vehicle and was apparently let back in after catching up, police said. However, the 10-year-old was left behind and was brought to White Plains police by a passerby.

The mother called police a short time later to report the girl missing and was arrested when she arrived with her husband at White Plains police headquarters.

She was charged with a misdemeanor count of endangering the welfare of a child.
