AMSTERDAM, Netherlands, Oct. 21 (UPI) -- City officials in Groningen, Netherlands, have announced plans to help low-income residents purchase flat screen television sets.

The City Council agreed to raise grants available to low-income residents seeking to replace worn-out TVs from $221 to $585 so the families can afford better-quality sets, Radio Netherlands reported Tuesday.
