LAS VEGAS, March 13 (UPI) -- Authorities have expressed concern about a car that a Las Vegas man painted to resemble an evil police car from last summer's "Transformers" movie.

Jessie Vigil, a disabled veteran injured in Iraq, said he spoke to Chief Deputy District Attorney Joe Ulibarri about his project before he got started on the surprise for his 7-year-old son, the Las Vegas Optic reported Thursday.

"I don't think this guy has any intent to mimic a state police officer. I'm not hearing that he is causing a problem and arresting people," Ulibarri said.

Ulibarri said a state law barring citizens from using their vehicles to mimic police cars is "pretty vague."

However, State Police Capt. Craig Martin said he is concerned about people who would not recognize the car as a fake.

The car resembles a police vehicle, but there are key differences. It's made from a 2007 Ford Mustang, it replaces the traditional "to protect and serve" with "to punish and enslave," and the blue and red lights affixed to the top do not function.
