ATLANTA, Nov. 28 (UPI) -- An Atlanta charity said almost $50,000 worth of toys has been stolen from the building where they were being stored -- police headquarters.

Employees of the Empty Stocking Fund said hundreds of toys -- ranging from popular doll brands to a $380 laptop computer and $5,000 worth of MP3 players -- were taken by burglars from the front section of police headquarters, WSBTV, Atlanta, reported Wednesday.

"There's no security, no cameras, anything like that on this end of the building," said Ron Campbell of the Atlanta Police Department. "They entered one of the small windows and they started taking some of the toys and gifts we have here stored up."

The charity was working with vendors to replace items that were stolen. Donald Crawford of the Empty Stocking Fund said the burglary has not discouraged the charity's employees from seeing that presents are delivered in time for Christmas.

"We're not going to let the Grinch win this year. We are going to have the holidays the way we intended to," Crawford said.
