CHICAGO, Jan. 22 (UPI) -- A Chicago school teacher showed what a Bears fan she is by arranging the birth of her second child to not coincide with Sunday's NFC championship game.

Colleen Pavelka was due to give birth on Monday, but she chose to induce the birth Friday afternoon so her husband Mark, also a rabid Bears fan, could attend the big game at Soldier Field without worrying.

Colleen gave birth to an eight-pound, nine-ounce Mark Patrick Pavelka late Friday night, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

"If I were able to, I would have gone to see them play," she said.

The Bears trounced the New Orleans Saints 39-14 and are headed to Super Bowl XLI in Miami Feb. 4.
