Man with ax threatens Swedish building

SKOGAS, Sweden, Jan. 18 (UPI) -- Government workers in a building outside Stockholm locked themselves in an office Thursday to escape a man armed with an ax.

Stockholm police said the man broke into the social services office in Skogas and threatened municipal employees with his ax, The Local reported Thursday. The employees locked themselves in an office and were eventually able to escape through an emergency exit, the police said.

The ax-wielding man poured gasoline on the floor of the reception area in the building but he was arrested before he could take further action.
