CHICAGO, April 12 (UPI) -- A Chicago-area man said he was duped into signing papers that led to a suit trying to force his support of twins he fathered as a sperm donor, a report said.

Michael Wilford said it was a case of "involuntary parentage" with ex-girlfriend Christin Harris, The Chicago Sun-Times reported.

Wilford donated sperm, but said he and Harris agreed he would have no responsibility for the now 2-year-old girls.

Wilford said Harris duped him into signing papers, saying they would let her to set up savings accounts for the twins. Instead, they put Wilford's name on birth certificates.

"She was a lady with a plan -- and that plan wasn't marriage," Wilford's attorney told a Cook County, Ill., judge. "He trusted her. Why? Because she said 'I don't want anything from you. I just want your semen.' "

However, Harris' attorney said Wilford concocted the "patently unbelievable" story "to extricate himself from having to pay."

A ruling is expected this month for the onetime couple who met on Web site Match.com, the report said.
