Plastic penis mistaken for pipebomb

FORT MYERS, Fla., May 25 (UPI) -- A foot-long plastic penis with the greeting "Happy Father's Day" was mistaken for a pipebomb and shutdown a stretch of Florida's I-75 near Fort Myers.

Lee County Sheriff's officials told the Fort Myers News-Press the suspicious package was spotted by a motorist Monday afternoon on the northbound I-75 overpass at Daniels Parkway.

Without getting too close, deputies decided it might be a pipe bomb and called in a bomb squad.

However, it turned out to be plastic molded into the shape of a penis with a Father's Day greeting scrawled on duct tape.

Both sides of the highway were closed for about an hour.
