BURNABY, British Columbia, Feb. 2 (UPI) -- Three teenage girls in Burnaby, Canada, just couldn't contain their craving for chocolate, so they decided to rob a gas station just for the candy.

The three brandished bear spray and a metal pipe and fled with "a fistful" of chocolate bars, the Vancouver Province reported.

"Robbery is not funny," said Burnaby RCMP Cpl. Pierre Lemaitre. "It's just incredible. They wanted chocolate. That's it. I'm serious. No money was taken. It was just, 'Gimme the chocolate.' I've seen a lot, and I haven't seen one like this before."

Police said after the girls walked into the station, one of them displayed a metal pipe protruding from the back of her pants, while another held a can of bear spray.

"They told the clerk they had weapons," Lemaitre said. "They threatened him menacingly. There was no doubt in the clerk's mind that they meant business."

Two suspects, ages 16 and 17, were later arrested, and metal pipes seized. Police were looking for the third suspect.

Authorities don't believe they will be able to recover the stolen chocolate.
