MOSCOW, Nov. 3 (UPI) -- Moscow went paper-happy Wednesday, setting the world record for the largest-ever origami, or Japanese paper sculpture, the Novosti news agency reported.

The centerpiece was a replica of the city's coat of arms, which features St. George on horseback, slaying a dragon. The folded paper horse, the tallest element, is 6 1/2 feet tall by 9 3/4 feet long.

Apart from that, the exhibit also featured the world's largest folded-paper hat. At 6 1/2 by 4 3/4 feet, a family of five could be covered. A similarly-sized paper boat rounded out the exhibit, which was attended by the Japanese embassy's Counselor for Cultural Affaires and Information.

Adding to the excitement, famous Muscovites attempted to establish origami frog long-jumping records for the prestige of being listed in the Book of Russian Records and the Guinness Book of World Records.

The report said members of martial arts groups were on hand to guard the exhibits.
