Chan Meng Hui also took the 200-meter race with a time of 34.6 seconds in the Singapore Masters Athletics Track and Field Championships, albeit against only one other competitor. His winning time was one second better than that of the winner in the 60-69 age group. Chan, who runs about three times a week and started marathon racing at age 55, said that it all comes down to positive thinking. "I have run more than 70 races, now I want to try for the shorter distances," he said. "And I want to send a message to the rest than if I can do it, they can too."
