SEATTLE, Aug. 10 (UPI) -- A Seattle thief passed over diamond jewelry, a credit card and even a $50 gift certificate for ice cream, shrimp kabobs, corndogs and cookie dough.

The Seattle Times reported Tuesday that the Sanchez family was sleeping when a thief helped himself to box of Creamsicles in an outdoor freezer, then climbed through their kitchen window to have a meal.

"We believe he actually heated up some of that food in the microwave," said Julie Sanchez.

Seattle police say the suspect may have stolen some cash, but mainly food from 11 homes, often eating while the family slept.

The suspect, whose name has not yet been made public, was arrested at the Berean Bible Church after churchgoers caught a man going through a women's purse.

Food-related evidence tying him to the other crimes was found in his car, police said.
