At least two parties are interested in acquiring the team and moving it to Brooklyn. That's so outrageous, big-time politicians are getting involved, the New York Post reported Wednesday. Robert Torricelli, D-N.J., against developer Bruce Ratner, who two weeks ago proposed bringing the team to downtown Brooklyn. Corzine and Kushner are putting a bid together to buy the two-time Eastern Conference champs from YankeeNets, the partnership that owns the Yankees and the Nets. The duo may put a bid in as early as next week. Another potential bidder, New York Islander owner Charles Wang, also he wants to build a new arena and move both the Nets and Islanders there.
