ARLINGTON, Texas, June 15 (UPI) -- The Texas Rangers snapped out of a scoring slump Saturday and pounded Florida 13-2.

The Rangers had entered the game with a streak of 22 scoreless innings and they had been outscored 19-0 in two games.

Juan Gonzalez went 4-for-4 and drove in three runs and Mark Teixeira had three hits and also drove in three for Texas.

Rangers starter Ismael Valdez (6-2) was the winner, allowing Florida's two runs and giving up six hits in six innings. The loser was Tommy Phelps (2-2).
