Halle Berry wins best actress Oscar

LOS ANGELES, March 24 (UPI) -- Halle Berry won the Oscar Sunday for best actress for her performance in "Monster's Ball," as a black woman who falls in love with the white corrections officer who executed her husband. Berry is the first black performer ever to win the best actress Oscar.
