The New York Post said the teens grabbed a flat-screen television from the Fire Island home, then broke into at least three other houses in the community of Water Island.

Police told the newspaper the suspects then began dumping their spoils, including a camera, painting and television, into the bay when they heard authorities were close behind them.

The three teens were charged with burglary.

"It's such a terrible thing. People feel violated," Gervaise Miller, the caretaker for Kors's property, told the Post. "He comes here to get away. It's a shame that this had to happen to him."

Miller said Kors was in Italy at the time of the break-in.
