Chikezie voted off of 'American Idol'

LOS ANGELES, March 27 (UPI) -- Chikezie, a former airport screener from Inglewood, Calif., is the latest contestant to be voted off the U.S. television singing competition "American Idol."

Although the 22-year-old didn't make it to the end of the competition, he did get far enough to be included in the Top 10 lineup for the "American Idols Live" tour this summer, E! Online said.

Chikezie was ousted from the show Wednesday, the night after he performed Luther Vandross' "If Only for One Night."

"This went back to a very old-school style," judge Randy Jackson said. "I didn't love it for you … It wasn't hip and cool."
