A scuffle with police began Dec. 23 when police told the 21-year-old model, whose real name is Rebecca Reyes, her truck taillights were not working while she was parked in her apartment building lot, The Tampa (Fla.) Tribune reported Sunday.
While an officer wrote her a $75 ticket, she got out of her truck to hide Christmas presents she was keeping in the truck bed so her boyfriend wouldn't see them if he came outside, the Tribune said.
"I didn't know it was a big deal," Reyes told the newspaper.
But police officers at the scene said she ignored multiple requests to get back in the truck, forcing them to arrest her.
The 5-foot-5 model said they then forced her to the ground and handcuffed her, scraping her knees and elbow and hurting her arms, making it impossible for her to model without extensive airbrushing.
Reyes was released on $500 bail Monday, the newspaper said.
"If she had just taken the ticket and sat in her truck," one of the arresting officers said, "it would have been over in 10 minutes."
