India's swine flu tally reaches 158

NEW DELHI, July 8 (UPI) -- The total number of confirmed swine flu cases in India is at 158 after five more individuals tested positive Wednesday, a health official says.

An unidentified Health Ministry official said 113 of the 158 confirmed swine flu patients are no longer hospitalized, leaving only 45 people still seeking medical care for the H1N1 influenza virus, the Press Trust of India said.

The Health Ministry official said among the new swine flu cases is a 33-year-old woman and her 6-year-old son.

The official told the Press Trust the mother-and-son pair tested positive for swine flu after traveling from Bangkok to the Indian city of Srinagar.

The Press Trust said the other three new patients are located in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore.
