LOS ANGELES, Oct. 27 (UPI) -- Netflix has ordered a second season of the period drama Frontier, starring Jason Momoa, ahead of the show's series premiere.

While there is no date set for the Netflix premiere, the series is currently set to air Nov. 6 on Discovery Canada.

Momoa stars as Declan Harp, a charismatic and ruthless 18th century fur trader. The show also stars Landon Liboiron, Alun Armstrong, Allan Hawco, Jessica Matten, Shawn Doyle, and Zoe Boyle.

"As we started to see this cinematic, well-cast and meticulously produced series come to life, we knew we'd created a uniquely immersive world and story that begged for expansion to a second season," said Discovery Canada vice president Ken MacDonald.

Momoa also stars as Aquaman in the upcoming Justice League and Aquaman films.
