Julia Louis-Dreyfus wins sixth Best Actress in a Comedy Emmy

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 19 (UPI) -- Julia Louis-Dreyfus collected her sixth Emmy Award for Best Actress in a Comedy Sunday night in Los Angeles.

Her HBO sitcom Veep was also elected Best Comedy.

Louis-Dreyfus has won one Emmy for her performance on The New Adventures of Old Christine and five for her role on Veep. She also has an Emmy for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy for Seinfeld.

Jeffrey Tambor this year earned the Best Actor in a Comedy title for his portrayal of a family man transitioning to a woman in Amazon's Transparent.

Louie Anderson and Kate McKinnon won the Best Supporting Actor and Actress in a Comedy accolades for their respective contributions to FX's Baskets and NBC's Saturday Night Live.
