LOS ANGELES, Sept. 13 (UPI) -- Glee alum Jacob Artist is confirmed for American Horror Story Season 6.

The 23-year-old actor revealed he will appear on the FX series' new season by posting a since-deleted photo of the script Tuesday on Instagram. Artist had captioned the picture "Day 1."

Artist joins several returning stars, including Lady Gaga, Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters. Cuba Gooding, Jr., who previously collaborated with American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy on American Crime Story, will also have a role.

"What's brilliant about ... American Horror Story is that it takes all the episodes of the season to come to the conclusion of horror. There's a theme that perpetuates the whole season and then it comes to this ultimate realization," Gooding told ABC News in August.

"When you watch it as a whole, as a piece, it really is a powerful statement. The statement we're making this year is just the same. It's more of that brilliance that is that Murphy brand," he teased.

American Horror Story Season 6 released a new teaser this month ahead of its premiere Wednesday but has kept its theme under wraps. FX CEO John Landgraf admitted last month that the trailers were meant to throw fans off.

"We just thought it'd be fun to keep it a mystery," he said. "They went out and made many more trailers than you've actually seen for hypothetical seasons ... A lot of them are accurate. The others are all misdirects."

Artist is best known for playing Jake Puckerman on Glee. He presently portrays Brandon Fletcher on the ABC series Quantico, which will return for a second season Sept. 25.
