"We're excited to announce @maggiegeha as Poison Ivy on #Gotham," the show wrote on its official Twitter.

Geha will play an older version of Foley's Ivy Pepper, the young Poison Ivy. The character ages after a run-in with a monster from Indian Hill, bringing her "one step closer to the DC villain she is destined to become: Poison Ivy."

The new Poison Ivy is a 19-year-old woman who has "harnessed the full power of her charms." Season 3 will see the character "set her sights" on Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz), the young Batman.

Gotham co-stars Ben McKenzie as James Gordon and will return Sept. 19. Geha is known for playing Susan on All My Children and appeared in the movies Winter's Tale and Ted 2.
