LOS ANGELES, Jan. 5 (UPI) -- Kate Mansi is reportedly leaving Days of Our Lives.

Serial Scoop claimed the 28-year-old actress has finished filming her scenes for the NBC soap opera, but will remain on-air through at least May.

Mansi joined the series as Abigail Deveraux in 2011, and quickly gained interest with her Chad DiMera (then Casey Jon Deidrick) romance. Ashley Benson played a teenage version of Abigail from 2004 to 2007, while Deidrick was replaced by Billy Flynn in 2014.

Abigail is the eldest child of supercouple Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) and Jennifer Horton (Melissa Reeves), and recently gave birth to Chad's son Thomas. The couple are expected to get engaged in one of next week's episodes.

"I'm most like Abby because I'm organized, and I think we both take ourselves a little too seriously," Mansi told Cosmopolitan in December. "We have to be reminded to stop working and have fun, and we're both such suckers for love."

"I'm least like Abby in that I'm very transparent and Italian that way, and totally wear my emotions on my sleeve," she added. "That's the only way I know how to live. It's messy, that's all. Abby has much more of that Jennifer side to her, where she keeps appearances, or tries to, when things are crumbling."

Days of Our Lives premiered in 1965, and has aired more than 12,750 episodes. Mansi has also appeared on CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother, and will star in the forthcoming thriller Muse with Riley Egan.
