'Parks and Recreation' releases final season preview

The season six finale saw the NBC comedy jump three years in the future, and the new footage is also set in 2017.

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 17 (UPI) -- Parks and Recreation released a season seven preview Tuesday.

The season six finale saw the NBC comedy jump three years in the future, and the new footage is also set in 2017. Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) continues to head the National Parks Service regional office, Tom Haverford (Aziz Ansari) is a mogul and Andy Dwyer (Chris Pratt) has his own TV show.

Parks and Recreation debuted in April 2009. The series follows bureaucrat Leslie Knope as she lives and works in the fictional city of Pawnee, Ind., and co-stars Adam Scott as Leslie's husband Ben Wyatt, Aubrey Plaza as Andy's wife April Ludgate and Nick Offerman as Ron Swanson.

Parks and Recreation will return for a seventh and final season in 2015. The season will consist of 13 episodes, and see Rashida Jones, Rob Lowe and Jon Hamm reprise Ann Perkins, Chris Traeger and Ed, respectively. New episodes premiere Jan. 13.
