William Shatner to play recurring role on Syfy's 'Haven'

Shatner will play "a pivotal character that has the potential to forever impact the fate of the town of Haven and its troubled residents," says the cable network Syfy.

NEW YORK, Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Star Trek icon William Shatner is set to guest star in a four-episode arc on the TV series Haven in 2015, Syfy announced Friday.

Shatner will play "a pivotal character that has the potential to forever impact the fate of the town of Haven and its troubled residents," the cable network said in a news release.

The show's mid-Season 5 finale is to air Dec. 5. The remaining 13 episodes of the season are scheduled to air next year. The series stars Emily Rose, Lucas Bryant, Nicholas Campbell and Eric Balfour. Based on the novella The Colorado Kid by renowned author Stephen King, Haven follows former FBI agent Audrey Parker, who becomes a cop in the small hamlet of Haven, Maine, and "soon discovers the town's many secrets, which also hold the key to unlocking the mysteries of her lost past," a synopsis said.
