LOS ANGELES, Nov. 5 (UPI) -- Kathy Griffin has been offered a hosting job on Fashion Police.

The 54-year-old actress confirmed the news to People magazine at the Make Equality Reality gala on Monday. Fashion Police network E! offered Griffin the position after Joan Rivers' death in September, but the comedian hasn't decided if she will sign on.

"They did offer it to me," she revealed. "I don't know if the situation is correct or right at this time for me. We'll see."

Rivers co-hosted Fashion Police with Kelly Osbourne, Giuliana Rancic and George Kotsiopoulos from its premiere in 2010 until her death at age 81 on September 4. E! announced the series will continue without Rivers two weeks later, and new episodes are scheduled for 2015.

Griffin came to fame on NBC sitcom Suddenly Susan, and subsequently starred on her own Bravo series, Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List, from 2005 to 2010. The actress has performed in numerous standup comedy specials for Bravo and HBO, and hosted The Comedy Central Roast of Joan Rivers in 2009.
