Candice Bergen to guest star in 'Battle Creek'

The upcoming crime drama follows two detectives with different views of the world who use cynicism, guile and deception to watch over the streets of Battle Creek

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 18 (UPI) -- Candice Bergen has landed a guest star role in CBS's upcoming detective show Battle Creek.

E! News reports Bergen is set to play a con artist named Constance who helps detectives Milton (Josh Duhamel) and Russ (Dean Winters) on a case. Her character is also Russ' mother and is described as being "charming, quick-witted and clever."

Battle Creek follows two detectives with different views of the world who use cynicism, guile and deception to watch over the streets of Battle Creek. The show stars Duhamel, Winters and Aubrey Dollar.

The crime drama was created by Vince Gillian of Breaking Bad fame and David Shore (House). Bryan Singer will serve as an executive producer and is also directing the pilot episode. Battle Creek's premiere date has yet to be scheduled.
