LOS ANGELES, Aug. 28 (UPI) -- Lifetime says its biopic The Brittany Murphy Story will have its worldwide premiere on the cable network Sept. 6. Amanda Fuller will play the actress who starred in Clueless, Girl, Interrupted, Don't Say a Word, 8 Mile, Sin City and Happy Feet before tragically dying of pneumonia in 2009 at the age of 32.

Sherilyn Fenn plays Murphy's mother Sharon in the TV movie, while Adam Hagenbuch plays the actress' longtime beau Ashton Kutcher and Eric Petersen plays her eventual husband Simon Monjack.
"Quickly landing a breakout role in the '90s hit Clueless, the 17-year-old continued her rapid climb to fame, working with some of Hollywood's biggest stars in such high-profile hits as Girl, Interrupted, Don't Say a Word and 8 Mile, among others," Lifetime said in a synopsis.
"With a personal life equally as glamorous, Brittany dated leading men like Ashton Kutcher before settling down to marry British screenwriter Simon Monjack. But relentless rumors, media glare and merciless pursuit by paparazzi -- coupled with insecurities about her appearance and an underlying desperation for approval -- wreaked havoc and took an enormous toll on Brittany's fragile psyche.
