Metallica's James Hetfield to narrate new docuseries 'The Hunt'

SAN FRANCISCO, May 20 (UPI) -- Metallica frontman James Hetfield will narrate new docuseries The Hunt on the History Channel.

The 50-year-old musician has lent his voice to the program for an eight-episode run beginning in June. The show documents the biannual Kodiak brown bear hunt in Kodiak, Ala., and follows a group of hunters in pursuit of the animal.

The Alaska Department of Fish and Game endorses and regulates the hunt two times a year. Thousands of hunters enter a lottery in hope of receiving one of 496 tags, and those chosen are required to live off the land for the duration of the hunt. Many hunters reject advanced weapons technology and use a bow-and-arrow or single-shot rifles.

The Hunt debuts June 8 on the History Channel.
