HOLLYWOOD, July 7 (UPI) -- Union Pacific Railroad said recent comments made by "Big Brother" houseguest Spencer Clawson "do not at all align with [the railroad's] values."
Clawson, 31, a railroad conductor from Arkansas, has come under fire for a series of offensive remarks he made on the 24-hour live feed from the "Big Brother" house on CBS.com, The Hollywood Reporter said Sunday.
The reality television star has said gay slurs, praised Hitler as a talented speaker and used the C-word, the entertainment industry publication said.
Union Pacific, Clawson's employer, released a statement Saturday distancing itself from his remarks.
"The values represented by Spencer Clawson's comments during the "Big Brother" show do not at all align with Union Pacific's values. Mr. Clawson is on unpaid leave of absence while participating on 'Big Brother.' Union Pacific does not condone his comments," the statement said. "Union Pacific is acting in accordance with Collective Bargaining Agreement terms regarding Mr. Clawson."
