Joanna Merlin and Nazanin Boniadi to guest star on 'Homeland'

LOS ANGELES, May 23 (UPI) -- Showtime says it has booked Joanna Merlin and Nazanin Boniadi for guest spots on its U.S. drama series "Homeland" next season.

Starring Damian Lewis, Claire Danes and Mandy Patinkin, the series will kick off its third season Sept. 29. It opens "during the aftermath of the horrific terror attack that decimated the U.S. intelligence apparatus and prompted a global manhunt for the world's most wanted terrorist," a synopsis said.

Amy Morton, Gary Wilmes, Sam Underwood, Tracy Letts, Lawrence Clayton and Pedro Pascal will also appear on the show next season.
