NEW YORK, April 18 (UPI) -- George Lopez, Bob Newhart and Mike Epps will be seen in "Richard Pryor: Omit the Logic," a documentary to air in the United States on Showtime.

Featuring appearances by Whoopi Goldberg, Richard Pryor Jr., Lily Tomlin and Mel Brooks, the film is to air May 31. It was helmed by "Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired" director Marina Zenovich.

Executive produced by Roy Ackerman and Pryor's wife Jennifer, the documentary is to screen at New York's Tribeca Film Festival April 23 before it airs on Showtime.

"While much is known of his rise to fame from a hardscrabble, at times tortured, upbringing, 'Richard Pryor: Omit the Logic' uses never-before-seen concert footage, photos and talk show appearances to illustrate Pryor's complex career arc in a newly desegregated America," Showtime said.
