NBC may cancel 'Up All Night'

NEW YORK, Feb. 17 (UPI) -- Star of "Up All Night" Maya Rudolph has told NBC she is pregnant after Christina Applegate left the series last week, sources told The Hollywood Reporter.

Sources told The Reporter that NBC is considering canceling the show.

The writing staff is seeking new jobs, The Reporter said, and CBS is courting Applegate's co-star, Will Arnett, to take part in a comedy series.

NBC has not released Arnett or Rudolph from their contracts, The Reporter said, but it appears both are attempting to negotiate their exits and are looking for other opportunities.

NBC and actors' representatives declined to comment on the show's future, The Reporter said.

Applegate announced her departure Feb. 8 and said the show took on a different creative direction that she did not agree with.

NBC hoped to save the series by hiring James Burrows to tape one episode of the show with Arnett and Rudolph, The Reporter said.

It wasn't clear whether Applegate's role would be recast.
