'Basketball Wives' figure files complaint

NEW YORK, Feb. 9 (UPI) -- The alleged stalker of "Basketball Wives" star Tasha Marbury told New York police the reality TV personality threatened her and she needs protection.

The woman, who goes by the pseudonym Monet Merchand, filed a police report Feb. 3 alleging Marbury threatened her and her friends with bodily harm, TMZ reported Saturday.

Marbury filed a report with the New York Police Department last month alleging Merchand is obsessed with her and her husband, former NBA star Stephon Marbury. The report said the couple are frequently harassed on the Internet by Merchand, who said she had sex with Stephon Marbury.

The couple say they have never met Marbury in person.

The NYPD said it is investigating both claims, TMZ reported.
