BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Aug. 4 (UPI) -- Alanna Ubach and Mark Curry have joined the cast of "See Dad Run," Nick at Nite's first original live-action comedy, U.S. cable network Nickelodeon said.

The Scott Baio-led sitcom about a former television dad who becomes a real-life stay-at-home father is to debut Oct. 6. The series is currently in production on the former "Happy Days" stage in Los Angeles.

Ubach, of "Meet the Fockers" fame, plays the soap star wife of Baio's character, while former "Hangin' with Mr. Cooper" co-star Curry plays his friend.

Baio was a "Happy Days" cast member and star of its spinoff "Joanie Loves Chachi." He also led the cast of the sitcom "Charles in Charge."

"'See Dad Run' represents an important milestone for Nick at Nite," Cohn said in a statement. "The proven comic appeal of Scott Baio combined with a stellar production team to create a funny, modern relatable family sitcom fits perfectly into Nick's prime-time strategy of entertaining every member of the family. We at Nick are thrilled to add this funny show to our arsenal."
