LOS ANGELES, Dec. 19 (UPI) -- Actor and comedian Fred Willard is to guest star on Rob Schneider's new U.S. sitcom "Rob," CBS announced.
Willard will play George, the title character's reserved father.

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 19 (UPI) -- Actor and comedian Fred Willard is to guest star on Rob Schneider's new U.S. sitcom "Rob," CBS announced. Willard will play George, the title character's reserved father.
Willard is well-known for his roles in writer-director-actor Christopher Guest's movies "This is Spinal Tap," "Waiting for Guffman," "Best in Show," "A Mighty Wind" and "For Your Consideration." He also earned three Emmy Award nominations for his role as Hank MacDougal on the CBS comedy series "Everybody Loves Raymond."
"Rob" stars Schneider, Claudia Bassols, Cheech Marin, Diana Maria Riva, Eugenio Derbez and Lupe Ontiveros. Set to premiere Jan. 12, the series is about a "confirmed bachelor who has just married into a tight-knit Mexican-American family," the network said in a synopsis.
