Gervais mulls hosting Globes again

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 27 (UPI) -- Ricky Gervais said he was considering an offer from NBC to return as host of the Golden Globe awards.

Gervais told a television industry audience in Scotland Friday the network had asked him back despite the stir he caused last year with jokes some critics thought might have had too much zing to them.

"I love NBC," Gervais said. "I love the fact they stuck by me through it."

But Gervais also indicated he might decline the offer, TVGuide.com said. "I am (considering it), but I shouldn't do it," he said. "It's a second encore. Don't do a second encore."
