LOS ANGELES, May 24 (UPI) -- Showtime has canceled its U.S. dramedy "United States of Tara" after three seasons, TVGuide.com reported.

A drop in the series' ratings is to blame for the decision, the Web site said.

The show's star Toni Collette won Emmy and Golden Globe awards for her portrayal of Tara Gregson, a wife and mother afflicted with multiple personality disorder.
