"Social change is about breaking down barriers. These kids are like rock stars, but without guitars or leather pants," Nancy Lublin, chief executive officer at DoSomething.org, said in a statement Thursday. "Jane Lynch is a bad-ass, which is why we love her."

"We're thrilled to once again present the Do Something Awards as we honor this year's amazing nominees with our host Jane Lynch," added Tom Calderone, VH1's president. "This awards show is truly like no other -- as young celebrities and young adults alike, are recognized for their contribution to society through various causes and charities. We were so encouraged by the huge star power that came out to support us last year and we look forward to building on those relationships as well as create new ones this year."
