NEW YORK, April 18 (UPI) -- ABC says it is planning to dedicate an episode of its U.S. talk show "The View" to the upcoming British royal wedding.

Prince William of Wales is to marry his longtime girlfriend Kate Middleton in London on April 29.

"A Royal Wedding -- The View," a live, one-hour special edition of the show, is to air the day the couple exchange vows.

This marks the first time "The View" has broadcast live on Friday since Sept. 12, 2008, ABC noted.

Regularly featured co-hosts Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Sherri Shepherd will be joined in-studio by Hollywood actress Goldie Hawn, a guest co-host for the day. Barbara Walters, on assignment in London for ABC News, will appear on the program live via satellite.

"Ms. Hawn will share personal stories of her friend, the late Princess Diana, and her son William, from their stay at her ranch in Colorado, a visit that included dirt biking for the young prince," ABC said in a news release Monday. "Among the topics to be discussed the morning of this highly anticipated fairytale Friday will, of course, be the ceremony, the dress, the ring, the clothes, guests and all the post posh wedding news."
