NEW YORK, Feb. 1 (UPI) -- Talk-show host Regis Philbin is set to be presented with the Legend Award at the 9th annual TV Land Awards show in New York, the cable network said.

The event is to take place April 10 at Manhattan's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

Philbin co-stars in "Live! with Regis and Kelly," alongside Kelly Ripa. He also is the former host of the prime time edition of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire."

Larry W. Jones, president of TV Land, announced Monday that Philbin will be the recipient of the network's Legend Award, which goes to an entertainer or a television show that has stood the test of time and ranks among the most memorable and celebrated in television and movie history, TV Land said in a news release.

"Hey, it's about time! Only kidding," Philbin said in a statement. "I'm delighted to receive this award. Thanks, TV Land."

"Regis Philbin is an adored television icon," added Jones. "A native New Yorker, he has given a slice of the city to all of his loyal viewers. TV Land is thrilled to have an opportunity to honor him."
