NEW YORK, Jan. 11 (UPI) -- U.S. talk-show host Wendy Williams is to make her soap-opera debut in March when she appears on two episodes of "One Life to Live," ABC said.

The real-life host of the syndicated program "The Wendy Williams Show" is to guest-star on the series March 2 and March 28.

She will play fictional talk-show host Phyllis Rose on the soap.

"Paternity switches, kidnapping and incarceration are just a few of the scandals threatening to disgrace Llanview's most prestigious family, and Phyllis Rose will delve into all the gossip and rumors when she hosts 'Access Llanview: The Buchanans, A Family Under Siege,'" ABC said in a news release Tuesday.

"If it's happening in entertainment and pop culture, then Wendy Williams is talking about it and having a good time doing it," "One Life to Live" Executive Producer Frank Valentini said in a statement. "She is the perfect person to play Phyllis, and we are looking forward to her bringing the energy and fun that she brings to her own talk show to 'One Life to Live.'"
