Actor Bill Erwin dead at 96

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 4 (UPI) -- Actor Bill Erwin has died at his home in Studio City, Calif., his son said. He was 96.

The Texas native was born William Lindsey Erwin. He is best known for his work in the movie "Somewhere in Time," as well as for his guest appearances on "Seinfeld," "Growing Pains," "Gunsmoke," "Highway to Heaven," "Perry Mason," "The Golden Girls," "Twilight Zone," "Zane Grey Theater" and "Who's the Boss?"

His son, Mike, told the Los Angeles Times the elder Erwin died Wednesday of age-related causes.
