NEW YORK, Nov. 22 (UPI) -- Charlie Sheen's lawyer, Yale Galanter, says the Hollywood actor plans to counter-sue Capri Anderson for civil extortion.

Anderson, who has been described in media reports as an adult-film actress, has publicly alleged Sheen assaulted and threatened her during a drug- and alcohol-fueled rampage in New York's posh Plaza hotel last month.

She announced plans Monday to file a civil lawsuit in Los Angeles seeking monetary damages from Sheen. In New York, she said she is pressing criminal charges at the Midtown North Police Precinct.

"We believe her story is just a pack of lies and she has no credibility," Galanter told TV's "Inside Edition" Monday.

Asked if Sheen grabbed Anderson's neck as she has claimed, the "Two and a Half Men" star's lawyer replied, "Charlie never physically abused her.

"He never verbally abused her. This woman never made any of these complaints when she was in front of the NYPD or the Plaza security," he explained. "Ms. Capri Anderson has made some serious allegations. She's changed her story and we are going to take her to task on that."

Sheen, who has battled addictions to drugs and alcohol for years, was arrested last year for assaulting his wife, Brooke Mueller.

He subsequently entered a plea agreement in the case and was sentenced to rehabilitation, probation and domestic-violence counseling.

Sheen and his wife filed for divorce this month.
