ANCHORAGE, Alaska, Nov. 12 (UPI) -- Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin says her new TV reality series "is not 'Housewives of Alaska'" but is about the state's "uniqueness."

Palin is seen catching fish and encountering brown bears in "Sarah Palin's Alaska" -- the 2008 Republican U.S. vice presidential nominee's eight-episode docu-series scheduled to premiere Sunday on TLC.

"This is not Housewives of Alaska," Palin told USA Today. "This is about the uniqueness of Alaska, the special place it is, and showing the rest of America why we are here and what we have to offer."
