LOS ANGELES, Aug. 17 (UPI) -- Grammy Award nominations will be announced during a star-studded concert for the third year in a row, organizers in Los Angeles said Tuesday.

This year's live event is to take place Dec. 1 and to air on CBS. The venue was not announced.

"The one-hour special will once again set the stage for the annual Grammy Awards telecast and announce nominations in several categories as well as feature performances by past Grammy winners and/or nominees," the network said in a news release. "Presenters, performers and additional information will be announced shortly."

The 53rd annual Grammy Awards are to be handed out at Staples Center in Los Angeles Feb. 13, 2011. The show is to air live on CBS.
